Beatrix F. Romhányi
Beatrix F. Romhányi holds degrees in medieval archaeology, classical philology and medieval studies. Since 2015 she is doctor of the HAS. Her field of interest and range of publications include medieval church history, especially monastic history, economic history, and historical demography. Assistant professor at the Károli Gáspár Calvinist University, she is also research fellow of the MTA-DE Lendület „Hungary in Medieval Europe” Research Group. Her recent research focuses on the economic activity of the Paulines and the mendicant orders in Hungary and Central Europe, as well as on changes of the medieval settlement network and population distribution. The most important international cooperations she participated in are the French-based MARGEC, the Vienna-based VISCOM and the project “Monastic Finance” housed by FOVOG (Dresden). As member of the informal research community “Scholars for an integrative knowledge on society in nature” she participated in the organisation of several workshops on environmental history.
